OER carbys ? any good ? yes or no ?

ok looking at buying a brand new set of carbys in a month or so ,just cos if im building a new motor i want as much stuff as possible to be new out of a box !
found a site that is pretty interesting ,the carbs look like solexs ,the thottle pump nozzles are in the same spot ,pilot screws in the same spot and i found out they use weber jets and stuff ,so tuning them would be easyer than setting ,my solexs up again http://www.racetep.com/tepoer.html link ^^^^ whats everyone think ? ,they look the same as solexs in pretty much every way on the outside and have easy adjustment of throttle pump and float levels ,only visable difference is the screw pattern on the top and the throttle arms ,but they might be for a certain brand linkage cheers

jesse when i looked at the link, it said they no longer carry those carbs and only carry and supply webers?

Jesse new carbs is a big move and very costly but I understand the desire to have all new stuff fitted.
KULH has a NOS set of Mikuni Type R's like the ones I had, I think they only stopped making these in 2004 so they're about as 'modern' as you can get. Have a word to him maybe? As for OER never heard of them but you are right they look like the older series of Solex PHH carbs (not mikuni/solex). I think it is ironic that a weber supplier will stock these as I've always argued that Mikuni/Solex had a good thing going from the start (facet diaphragm pump, external adjustment etc etc) after all weber only started improving their carbs when they released the DCOM and this improvisation was just a diaphragm facet rather than piston. Mikuni and solex have had it going good for years.

New carbs are a big call especially that once tuned you could probably
have had injection setup using quad motorbike throttle bodies like some have done with megasquirt ecu. if you like old skool then Chris has some 34mm quads that havent had their full potential tune. 34mm quads flow plenty for the road and some track work. Honda used 34mm in their old civics and 1.3 litres for over 150hp in race tune. You can view topic.
