datsun 120y seat recliner??

hi in my datsun 120y the drivers side front seat is on one position only (far back) and when you pull the lever on the side to recline to different position it moves properly but dosnt lock it any other position besides far back were it is normal!
how can i fix this i took of the little plastic cover were the handle it and cant seem to find anything wrong! Thanks!

you tried pushing the lever back to it's locked position when the chair is at the angle you want?

yess i have tried the lever dosnt move at all!

Some seats are reclining, but the standard 2-dr seat is folding, but not reciling. If the seat back is partially broken it may be falling too far back.
