I am using an alloy 4.11 diff centre out of a 1k (h145) and running on 14 inch rims but want faster acceleration. So my question is what ratio should I go for & what is available without breaking the bank?
And once I get my bigger brake setup installed I'll have to use 15 inch rims, any help would be very appreciated :)

just use lower profile tyres levey- gives the same effect with $$$ in your pocket.

i used 175 55 13 and was fun for a few days, then got bored (and deaf) on the freeway.

you can get 175 50 15, better than 195 50 15.

You can either find a 4.4:1 ratio that some 1K wagons had, or use some 175/60x14 tyres. I had a set of Falkens on a 1200 wagon in this size years ago. Filled the wheel well 'perfectly'. Was also readily available as they used this size on all the Mazda 'bubble' cars.

You can play around with tyre profiles at that point but the odd ones (or infact all ones since retailers do not stock like they use to) would get exxy. It is my opinion then that more power is required or to drive on gravel to even out these current performance attributes.... :P

C20 Vanette used a H165 and later model used H190 so neither center would work in the housing that's currently on Levey's car. If he was going for a beefed up bits upgrade then sure, those centers would work ok but you still want more power to push the thing

I have a h150 diff almost ready to go in maybe I should wait until I put that in? Unfortunately 15 inch rims will be the minimum size that I will be able to use :(

how much power is it putting out? maybe a taller ratio like a 3.9 might work if you've got some hp

It should be 100-120hp ATW

What can be done without breaking the bank? Almost nothing apart from wheel and tyre sizes.

Best bet would be upgrade to a H165 and use a 4.875 ratio centre (that would absolutely slaughter anything off the mark, especially with the A16 in front of it).

Otherwise have a look for a taller H145 but those are expensive and hard to find.
