can you buy the correct ratio drive gear & switch it out to make the speedo accurate?
Thinking while I'm writing this.....if the 60A goes in with the H150 3.7 rearend shouldn't the readout on the speedo be correct or is the speedo calibrated itself to the stock 1200 configuration making the drive gear necessary? thanks, Evan

get one of these evan
![]() speedo correction box, hook it up to gearbox speedo output and plug the cable into it. i got mine here (australia) but the housings are made by clark brothers in the usa. i got it 2 weeks ago now, but been waiting since jan for the top housing to arive. way easier than rejigging a speedo and than changing the raTIOgear thing in the gear box. can also be changed if you change your diff or gearbox ratios, even tire profiles. aus web site us web site

That's cool! I didn't even know they made ratio adapters. Is that the 8870 Adapter or the 'All-Makes' Adapter?
In looking at their catalog, I don't see a Datsun/Nissan reference. Is it that all Speedo drives are the same (diameter & thread pitch)? Please keep us informed on how it works out. Evan, it is configured as a set. If Trans, the Diff gearing and Tire size are the same configuration as stock, then it will be as accurate as stock. Changing one item will alter the reading at the Speedo.

That is cool, I'll look into it!
I assumed it was all a set configuration so in theroy if I changed out the speedo from the 210(which of course it wouldn't fit) set for the 5 spd. & the 3.7 diff w/13" wheels & the proper tire size everything would be nuts on! Hey Ron - still want to do next Saturday?

Evan, even right from the factory most of teh speedometers didn't read correctly. Common tolerance is 10%.
Yes, the Nissan dealer has the gears, about $10 and you don't have to open the gearbox. Just fits into the side. I recommend waiting until you get it on the road. If it's good, your done. If not, calculate the gear you need from our Speedometer tables and get the appropriate gear. There are 15, 16, 17 and 18 teeth gears new from Nissan ![]()
