I meant worldwide. No 1200 utes ever came with an a15? Did the south african bakkies ever get one?

South Africa sold the Datsun 1200 and Nissan 1400 LDV -- never a 1500.

Japan sold the 1200 only.

New Zealand, I am told, sold the RoadStar and SportStar ute with an A15, but I do not know if it is true.

Excellent! Have you got any images of sales brochure/review articles which mention it?

Next question, did utes come with different steering shaft splines than coupes and sedans? I've tried a 1200 sedan and 120Y wheel on the shaft of my ute, but it seems as if there is 1 extra or 1 less tooth? What steering wheels will fit?

Steering wheels are the same as the cars. Except for the colors.

utes in NZ are a12's. Plenty get get converted to a15 because there's a lot over here from sunny's and vanettes but not from factory

The splines are different.

The sedan wheel didn't fit, the 120Y wheel I have didn't fit, the bosses I bought which fit my sedan, didn't fit. I sold one of the bosses I tried on the ute which didn't fit, to my mate who has a coupe, and it slipped straight on the coupe.

They DID NOT FIT. The wheel which was on the ute when I bought it was bashed on with a hammer so the splines in the steering wheel were pretty much destroyed.

I think I might swap columns with my wagon.
