he got it back but found it in a scrap yard, with lots of parts gone.

He got it back, found out were all the parts were pawned and got them back too. When it was loaded on the scrap metal truck a couple of other cars got stacked on it which buckled the roof, a fender, broke the rear window, and while the car was at the scrap place some chunt-funter smashed in the boot lid.

So is it a case of the scrap yard receiving stolen goods ? Did they offer any compensation ?

I don't know the complete story. But from what I've gathered, one person stole it, stripped parts off it, then it changed hands and was sent to the scrapyard.

i'm with DatsAndy if the scrap yard received stolen goods n then damaged them further should they not be liable for damages.good news..she was recovered, bad news is all the damage n parts

The parts were recovered too. I think he's going to sell the parts and wreck out whats left to buy another daily.
