very loud air horn information needed.

Due to certain F**Kbags on the roads, im considering upgrading my poxy electric horns to a real air horn.
It was mentioned to me that you can get airhorns that use vacumn rather than compressed air to operate. If this is true, (i havent found anything yet) then it means i dont need to run a compressor and air tank (although that would be cool). Anyone know of such a vacumn air horn fo cars/trucks/machines? Else, anyone know where you can get an electric horn that would make grannys teeth chatter? cheers PS this aint for the dat.

i dont think or even ever heard that airhorns can run of vacuum! i think a better solution for a loud horn would be those electric type airhorns that dont need a compressor and tank!
like this http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onli ... aspx?pid=5512#Description my dad had these in his holden kingswood back in the day and it was loud enough to make people jump and swear heheheh :) but these were a while ago so not sure how these supercheap ones are?

The original horn in my Dad's HZ Kingswood was barely audible, was almost humerous watching him angrily bashing a horn that was so meek and mild
Road rage is a waste of energy but a good horn is always useful.Edit: These seem to cheap to be real http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BR-NEW-PAI ... ories&hash=item1c1f49dfd7

im with you Chris. Id love to fit real air horns. I have a suitable compressor at home, I can get an old truck air tank for free, and chrome horns are about $30 each. I just dont know if I can be naffed installing it all.
Air horns that work on vacumn would be awsome as its a much simpler wiring effort. Just tap into the vacum line near the brake booster and done! and since my car runs a seperate vacumn pump, there is plenty of capacity, so im not concerned about running out of pressure for the brakes. Ive added a horn from a sunny and its better, but it still too poxy and quiet for the vehicle. that train horn kit is pretty awsome. With that not only could I remind F**Kbags that they are bieng F**Kbags, but I can interchange that gentle comments over the loudspeaker I run. Pulling up inches from their bumper also seems to gently remind them. It all sounds a little childish, but the pootrol needs something worthy of it presense. Ive tried the cheaper plastic airhorns, and they are too high noted and dont last to long. I just pulled my last set which died from mud and water ingestion. (The same as the set you posted Lamb_daquari) I think the train horns are the solution. Just hoping there was an eaiser solution. I just need to pull the fingerout

I guess if you want to go to town you can put a WW2 air raid siren in the engine bay. You'll have to move the engine some place else though. ANyone remember Robby COltrane's Plane's Train's and Automobiles? He showed an American air raid siren that was driven by a 318 Chrysler V8! That would get their attention.
You could always pipe a trumpet into the exhaust before the muffler and put a valve in the line. Low tech and extremely loud, would sound like a plane pulled up behind them.... You can view topic.
