as for the push rod engine, hplden still using them arent they  oh wait hydraulic lifters now such and upgrade

yup holdens v6 and v8's still use push rods!
never really understood why they would use old technology instead of over head cams!

The LS series of V8's get my vote.
I am constantly amazed by how much power they can make reliably with relatively light mods.
