5 speed gearbox

hi, im fairly new to this site and datsuns too. i was wondering if there is such thing as a bolt in 5 speed gearbox and if so what i will find it in. if not what is my best option??

there is a few, check out the wiki for details, the strongest is a rare beast, the others are quite obtainable for $600-800 odd dollars and are equal strength to the stonger 4 speeds (smooth case ones)

they would be the 600-800 dollar option i would think, the super rare was a 5 speed based on l-series with a special bell housing to adapt to a-series motor... and therefore is quite strong

Where I live, there's a few B-210's sitting around with 5-speeds.
You have to mfg a tranny mount as the 5-sp is longer, prolly use the driveshaft input shaft too, I'm Not sure about that. The position of the shifter is a bit rearward but not too bad, you can bend the shifter forward and cut a few inches off and it will work. If you're wanting take-off power, use the 1200 axle, if MPG is the goal, swap for the B-210 axle w/13" rubbers. I dunno about the hangers and overall width. Rusty Wrench You can view topic.
