#1 Adding front camber
spatchcock Posted on: 2012/1/7 5:54
Hey guys

I just put new wheels on my coupe and the offset is off a little. The poke out 5mm ish. I was think adding a tad of camber would offset this. Are there any thoughts on this or other ways to pull the wheels in 10mm from the experts? I'm a bit of a noob so any advice would be great!

Many thanks!
J

You can pull the top in with adjustable camber plates similar to this-

That will make them roadworthy by being inside the guards (looks awesome too with massive neg camber!).
To do it entirely properly you're best off getting a set of adjustable lower control arms from Maddat or make your own. I've got a set to make up soon.

You'll struggle to find cheaper than this-

S13 Adjustable Camber Tops (Ebay)

Only mod you'll need to do is drill out the holes in the strut tower to take the larger studs on the camber tops. You might also need to get a stepped nut machined to bolt them on.

that looks like it will hit the spot.

whats involved in making a set of adjustable lower control arms? and what do you mean stepped nut? could i source some silvia nuts which you would like be the same size....

and care you going to the buxton cruise? is many 1200.com peeps going? i'm relocation to melbs in two weeks so trying to get everything done before the little trip

I'm using Toyota celica wheel nuts for the stepped nuts through pillow ball in adjustable strut tops. Thread and pitch thread right for shocks.

Adjustable lca not "legal" for road use.... Not 100% necessary yet for your planned mods.
