Hi,

my datsun has A12 engine and i have noticed that previuosly it was a tip start with power etc but now if i start it after a day or so it take time to start or it if does kick on the engine stays at a constant....giving speed doesnt make any difference and after few minuts the engine noise changes like it has got its power back....pedalling the speed the engine responds.....and if i do start it on the same day it starts up fine with power....please help

Easy fix
Unbolt your engine n transmission, take it out of the engine bay n take it to the tip, those engines r absolute rubbish, why would you waste time on it when you can put sr20 or a ca18 and atleast be more reliable and easy to diagnose problems!

But to answer your question that problem is comon on those.

Rubbish? highly doubt it their very reliable in my opinion and easiest engine to diagnose problems in.....

Nothing rubbish about the A12.
A few more HP might help though.

Thats if u got the cash and know how to put in a sr20 or c18
I would stick with the A12 it could only be fuel or spark.
So will only start if u pump the pedal??

So you would rather drive an A12 over a sr20det or ca18det, you don't need know how its very easy to do these swaps it can get fustrating and time consuming but lots of people have done them in there back yards with the help of aftermarket support to get parts.

Im sure if you took the A12 to a shop they will know all about these motors as there comon motors so figuring out probs should be easy enough

and man i have put heps of k,s on them and used FKall on petrol.With help from mate
at ROB MYERS AUTO He Has Told me Every thing i will ever need to know thease Stock A12,s

U PEOPLE GIVE UP TO EASYLY its about saveing $$$ for some and haveing a car thay can afford and enjoy working on. Anybody can plug some thing in to a computer and say what wrong LOL
