Clutch fork

Well finally I have got my gearbox issues sorted and are now the proud owner of a 60L box with a Cooke Motorsport close ratio kit- one of five ever made. First impressions are very good with this box being all about the first 4 gears then a bit of a gap from 4th to 5th whereas the 56A c/r box that I had was all about 2nd-5th.
One small issue that I have is that I can't quite get the clutch adjusted up correctly. While its working fine I am not quite getting full travel on the pedal when I push it hard in and it appears that the problem is the clutch fork needing to be either shimmed at the pivot ball or behind the thrust bearing to get it further forward which all seems a bit odd as it is exactly the same clutch fork and thrust bearing that I used with the 56A box. Which raises the question is the clutch fork on the 56 and 60 series boxes the same? Cheers Dave

there is long and short bearing carriers too...

That's true
But if you simply swap a 56A for a 60, then no worries. If you also changed either the flywheel or the engine plate, then you might need a different throwout bearing sleeve/carrier.

So DD are you saying then that if I replace the 56 clutch fork with a 60 series one then all should be well? ( nothing else has been touched )Going by the drawings the 60 series one looks as if it has more of a backwards lean on it.

Yes, it is my understanding. Replace the 56 clutch fork with a 60-series one and all should be well.
And could you take photos of them side-by-side? All we have are those factory diagrams to go by.
