Hi guy in a couple off months when i rebuilt my 1200 is it a must that i hone or bore the block or can i just wack new pistons and rings in and off i go.I need peoples advice because my brother in law wants to do with me to save money,im leaning towards Bige doing this for me as he has a tremdous amout off knowledge and i would rather have him do it.That way i dont have to foook around.

Since you're pulling the motor apart, you'd be silly not to hone or bore. Which one is needed won't be known at least until the head is off.

Measure the cylinder as per the factory service manual. If it is round and in specification, then boring is simply a waste of time and money.

Since the A-series is so tough, most time a simple hone is all that is needed.

Hi guys is the 120y a12 the same as the ute a12.Reason im asking is they have gasket kits for the 120y a12,just wondering whether or not it will suit the ute a12.
