the word "spacer" makes it sound like the bakelite (red coloured plastic feeling thing) spacing block for the original pump

I would not think Nissan sell a blank off plate (for removal of the pump) like the link? anyone actually bought a Nissan one?

Yes, all the EFI Datsuns e.g. 280Z have them and also some carbureted Datsun. L-series and A-series are exactly the same, A14E used it.

$16 at Nissan USA, ordered out of Japan. Since it's farther away Nissan AUS will probably charge more.

I bought an ebay one as per the link. It's laser cut 3mm aluminium and comes with two ss hex bolts. Came fast to. Now it'll sit on my desk for months till I get around to doing anything with it.

I was going to make a run of these and I reckon I wouldn't be able to do it for less than $25 a piece considering drawing time, cutting, material, and handling. So I think $25 is very reasonable.
