Overflow Carburator

Hi Guys
I found yesterday my carburetor overflowed and was fuel smelling 2 times after that i could not start it till i wait 20 -30 minutes what would course it to overflow can i give it a remedy without taking carburetor out of the car ? thanks regards sumith

needle and seat not seating or float has dropped
