Hi people

Does anyone here knows the diferences between a gx and a normal 1200? I know it had round gauges and probably a five speed box, but the rest I don't know, can anyone help?

Bonnet, Badges, interior trim.
The engine also had oval intake ports and SU's I think. I'm sure others can be more specific. I'm basing my opinion on what I've heard, not what I've seen.

Chris.

thats correct oval intakes, diffrent shape combustion chambers, double valve springs and twin SU pre-pollution (round top) carbies, and other minor details previously mentioned. im not sure about the 5-speed though cause ive never actually seen a GX i just got a couple of GX heads

p.s. diffrent exhaust manifold too, looks similar but at the flange it is still two pipes which collect further down the exhaust into one pipe (not 100% sure this is GX only, maybe on some other 1200 models aswell)

plus, bigger valves, sodium cooled exhaust valves, heated intake manifold

83hp SAE @ 6400rpm
10.0 km/m @ 4400rpm

vs std

68hp SAE @ 6000rpm
9.70 kg/m @ 3600rpm
