hi guys just wondering what RPM your ute sits on at 100 (tat is gps 100). I tested mine the other day with a gps and at 100 on the speedo im doing 80, at 120 im doing 100. Sitting on 100 the ute is revving at 4500RPM, would this be about standard? Did the ute come out with any different ratios to maybe change this up a bit. NOTE: I'm also running the standard 12 inch rims on the back with 165/70 R12 tyres.

My ute sits on about 3500-4000 RPM, at 100km. Mind you the a12 is mildly worked with an H89 head plus a single dcoe. its quite torquey therefore i would have thought my revs would be much higher than yours. my diff is std h165 with a 4.1 in it. perhaps your diff is a 4.4 or 4.9?
My speedo is all kinds of messed up too, im running 13" rims.

When I'm doing an actual 100 kp/h, the tachometer is at 4000 RPM. Because I have smaller diameter tires than stock (low profile tires). I have standard 4.11 final gear ratio - the only ratio fitted to utes from factory.

When doing an actual 100 kp/h, my speedometer reads about 124 kph. Because the speedometer tolerance can be up to 10% off from the factory + tire size change.

4200 is about right based on the size of the tyres and a 4.11 diff calculating it purely mathematically (though tyre rolling circumference isn't always identical for two tyres with teh same size/profile, it's only a slight variance).

nice freeware download allows you to work out what sort of rpms with various diff ratios, or swapping to a 5 speed, etc.

Yes, the speedometer face (along the edge) says 60MPH=1024RPM. So that is 97 kph.

With 4.11 gears (and the stock tire diameter of 29.1") that works out to 4209 rpm for 60 mph [4283 for 100 kph]

Then, consider factory tolerance of 10%, so if it doesn't read correctly that's the how it was made.

Yeh thanks for the info guys, think the best way to reduce this would be a 5 speed, they would have different top gear ratios im sure? its uncomfortable revving the motor that high for extended periods of time thats all. speedo isnt too much of a concern, i have found dash mounted LCD display gps units which look qutie the part i might invest in one, that would be problem solved.
