#1 Electric Choke

Hey guys I have a question I was hoping someone could help me with.
I have an electric choke set up on my carby. There are two problems.
1) The spring heats up too quickly and comes off the choke too quickly, so I will be getting a resistor to slow it.
and 2) which is my question. It seems to "loosen?" its self after a drive or by the next day. As in I will adjust it to where it will spring back 100% of the time when i check it, then the next day it will only spring back partially.
I feel if I adjust it any tighter to counter the slack it gets the next day it will be too tight and not be optimal. Im thinking the cause is perhaps the spring tension stiffened over the time it was not hooked up (I only connected it recently)and now as it is getting used it is returning to original tension.
Is that whats happening or am I not tightening it enough in the first place?

Also I got my P's today xD

I think the choke needs replacing because 1) it heats up too fast and 2) looses spring tension. It's worn out.
