1500 conversion in the ute

hey guys, just thinking about putting a 1500 in my 1200 ute, i hear that it is an easy conversion, however is it just a straight engine swap, can i use the existing 4 speed and diff???
will it be worth doing, or is there not really much more power gain??? thanks luke
