hey eveyone,

heres the problem.

In neutaral the vdo tacho works perfectly, but once driving after say 2000-3000 revs
its stutters, climbing and falling with a jerky motion.
checked wiring and searched on here with no luck

engine is l20b with electric dizzu.

Check earthing points, check voltage regulator sect. I've never found it an annoying issue I just accept that's what it does

Also check the ignition condenser (capacitor) if fitted.

I had an issue like this that I never resolved in an old car. It's noise in the ignition circuit so if you can fix that it'll go away. A friend with an oscilloscope might be able to help if the other checks don't fix it.

Pull the leads of the capacitor by the coil and fit a flat fuse to them. See if that fixes your problem. If so, leave it that way.
