#1 Leaf spring plates for r31 diff swap
Slowbuild Posted on: 2013/7/25 0:15
Just wondering how other members managed to accommodate the larger axle tubes when doing an r31 diff swap?

I have been quoted $285 for custom plates and u-bolts but that seems really excessive to me (the reverse eye lowered king springs were only $10 more than that). Maybe I'm just out of touch I don't know, does that seem excessive to you?

I used HQ Holden u bolts from memory and then made my own spring plates out of some 3mm steel plate.

Thanks trb012.

I should have mentioned it's going into a 1200 coupe so the shock absorbers will have to be mounted on the plate as well.

Seems excessive. Why not use R31 wagon spring plates, and weld the coupe stud to them? The shock mount stud does not hold the weight of the car, it only handles the friction of the shock and is a very small bolt.
