The ol' stumpy ca18 bell housing question

Trying to find the definitive answer.
From my research the stumpy req's the ca20 bellhousing to fit the ca18det motor. But then some say the they got the ca18 bellhousing to fit? When i called grand auto wreckers for the ca20 bellhousing, he reckons i should use the ca18bellhousing. Confused.
