First -- great to see progress with the A-series heads and would like to know more.I miss the chap who was working on the head[ohc] and would like to hear more. In the evenings i like to read Jmac & co essay's and check out the arguments and s/times take side on the quiet. SECOND; been watching the dev of the nissan altima v8 and see they are up with the rest [won their race at winton] just a pity ford and holden are now protesting the fuel being used [jungle juice as per ford & holden]Hope nissan [kelly] dont quit.Geez some people just cant take a hiding. EG.--porsche could'nt handle the gtr time[fastest] at n'burg ring and now ford &holden can't handle their 1st hiding. anyway keep up the good work i'll be watching cos i would like to build s/thing small & mean[s/thing to break my neck]like my uno turbo engine only meaner--you the feeling - s/thing so fast you scare y/self--cheers

Is Nissan still the only manufacturer to use a production engine for V8 Supercars?

Only thing production is the block as far as i'm aware. in house crank, rods and heads, not much production left in it. VK56 de-stroked back to 5L capacity. edit: cylinder head is the OEM item, my bad ![]()

That's a lot more production-based than GM or Ford so I've been told. Good on ya, Nissan!

bah, the Ford motorsport block is SFA different from an old Windsor, just alloy.
Certainly production based.

dd just google 'nissan v8- protests force ruling on new fuel -THE AGE ' the nissans are 'production based' but a little heavy on fuel and behind on dev . There was agreement that nissan & merc could use other fuel but now they winning and the opp is not happy.
