Hi guys a have been buying ARP studs for my Ca18,when installing them do u have to use anything to lock them into place,I know that they go in the same way that u tighten the nuts but what about when u undo the nuts will the stud come out?

Hi guys I have a question about head studs for ca18det,do they pass through any off the water jackets?

I am a stud in general!!! Oh not the topic I thought...
Anyway, i am not a CA18DET expert but i would imagine (in fact i am certain) that the studs would not pass through any water jackets as the thread would act as a leakage path for water.

Nige likes giving studs head but as elrich said water gallaries shouldnt passvthrough bolt holes. Next to or nearby quite possibly

I really do wonder why motors like the Buick v6 were designed to need sealant from letting coolant through the head bolt holes?

Ah holden v6 lol. They let all their fluids escape no matter how much sealant you use lol

Many engines have headbolt threads that are in water. Sealant is used on the threads.
