I have looked at your pics and was wondering what sized tyres you have on those 15" wheels and whether you had to do any guard work to fit them in there?

Hello,
I used 195/50 R15 tyres on them. They scrubbed quite hard without any guard madification. Right at the bottom front of the guard where it attaches to the front apron bit. Got a hammer and belted it out so that the guard went straight and continued on the line that it was on and didn't curl back in like it does normally. I also then lipped and rolled the guards a little bit too. Used a base ball bat I haev never done those things before. But I had a spare set of guards that I am going to use when I repaint the car so I thought I would give it a go. And if I can do it then so can anyone. Just need a little bit of touch up paint on the edges of the guard where it was rolled. ![]() In this picture here it still has the (I think) 195/60 15 rubber on it which I got changed. If I haven't explained this correctly. (Which I probably haven't) then jsut tell me and I will try and explain it better..

Oh yeah, the back wheels seem to be rubbing ever so very slightly whenever I got over driveways on certain angles on the inside. I may have to get spacers or something for the backs.

hey how much do those 'paintless' guard rollers go for that bolt onto your wheel studs and have like a spring loaded teflon roller on them?

Is the address for my homepage. That is the firt page and from then on you should be able to click on the "next" button. To see the next one. Ummm yeah never seen it on another web site but the address is case sensitive. So the D in Datsun has to be capital. As does the P... You could always click on the "WWW" button under my posts... I haven't updated it since I had just taken delivery of the supercharger though. One day I might get around to it...

Oh yeah and I think those guard rollers from memory were around $40-50 a wheel arch from tyre places from memory.
My friend looked at doing it and then said stuff it cos it would have cost too much. Apparently they also don't guarantee that your paint wont crack or chip either. Especially with older cars. ![]() They just say that there is a lower chance of it happening.

your interior is really good, did the 6x9 in the back fit straight in or did you have to cut out some metal bracing, oviously you cut the trim

I didnt look at that photo on Lobsters web site but I assume the 6 x 9's were in the trim panels behind the front seats?
If so, I will add my 2 cents. I had 7 x 10's mounted in that position only requiring the trim to be cut. This was a good setup and very very loud!! If I was to do it again I would not use the trim panel to hold the speaker. Instead I would opt for some 12mm MDF or similar and make new panels. Although the old trim panels didnt move around too much under full noise I think you would achieve better sound and your speakers would last longer. Cheers You can view topic.
