#1 A10 - A12 oil pan?
MaikCherry Posted on: 2014/4/22 8:38
Hey guys, i own a datsun F10 (100a FII) with an a10 engine. I figured this would be a good place to ask my question. The A10 is getting a little boring and i'd like to put an a12 in (or a14/15, but they're difficult to find here in the Netherlands). But, because it is FWD and the tranny is underneath the engine the oil pan is very different. Does any of you guys know if the A10 and A12 oil pans are exchangable? Do the bolts meet up?

Greetings, Maik

Heya Maik can you take a pic of your sump

Im pretty sure its the same for the A14 fwd engine found in most markets
if not you might have to get the A14 version instead but otherwise you
would just put the block that you want if your in luck.
Nissan interchanged alot but I would think the A15 wont be possible due
to the sides of the sump needing clearance due to biggest stroke.

Hi Maik, welcome to the club.

Yes, A10 and A12 share the same oil pan, at least in the E10 series and also in the RWD Datsuns.

Oil pan gasket set is the same A10 and A12 too. Be sure to use the updated gasket as old old gaskets were specific to the pre-1974 engines.

Thanks for the replies! I'll post a photo of my pan this evening. Mine is '77 so i'd be using the newer gaskets. There's a 1200 with running engine for sale so I think i should send him a message :D
