#1 which ecu for use with ITBS ?
estyre Posted on: 2014/6/22 17:01
hey everone , recently sold my 40mm solex carbs in favour of a set of 36mm kiehin itbs

In the process of making a manifold , and I need to source an ecu

Been looking at megasquirt as they are cheap and do everything all the big brand ones do , but im still not sure whats the best option

Should I keep the single coil setup and go fuel only or go for multicoil and run a cas?

What would I use as a crabk angle reference? And what dozzyoptions do I have as ive been running a points dizzy as a trigger for my msd6al2

Thanks and any help would be awesome

Loose the distributor and the CAS

Go with MegaSquirt and a crank trigger wheel. You'll gain Fully adjustable spark curve with no distributor gear variation.

Dont go fuel only. I have considered it as im tight byt after seeing cold start issues and other little issues on a couple of set ups not worth it now days.
Also speaking with sikyne the issues with tuning them too when other issues in the car.

I'm running a megasquirt to and love it, went from an ms1 with a dizzy to a ms3pro with 4 ls1 coils. should have done coil packs in the first place as the dizzy was the week link in my set up and took up space in an already over full engine bay.

I'm using mega squirt II with ITBs and an EDIS ignition. Well, I'll be using the EDIS when I get my pulley machined to fit the trigger wheel. I had an EDIS8 running off a trigger wheel in the dizzy but that wasn't reliable. Something funkey happened at around 5krpm. Seriously easy to tune the engine map with Tuner Studio (full version) and a wide band. Plug in, drive, autotune. Not expensive either. I haven't made much use of the logger license I paid for.
