Hi All,
Im wondering if anyone can tell what the hell this black plastic vacum inlet thats on the manifold ment to be used for ?? It is about 25-30mm high black plastic on the firewall side of the carb. It has one inlet , but get this some idiot has put a bit of garden hose on it and stuffed a sparkplug in the end with clamps both ends. (not me either) The hose is about 100mm long. I cant find it in any of the workshop manual's I have. Please keep in mind the motor is out of an 120Y. Any idea's please ?? Regards amshaw

120y's had a brake booster, you said once before your car doesnt, so that hose would be intended to got to brake booster but caude you aint got one you can just block the hose, it doesnt reaaly matter how long it is or anything, id probably shorten it and put a bolt in instead of the spark plug just to make it a bit more tidy, or just forget about it

Thanks mate,
I pulled off the whole air cleaner this morning and checked the PCV valve and blow out all the vac hoses and put a new short peice of fuel hose with a small bolt on the brake booster you are talking about , at least now it looks much more tidy . I also found that the bloke before me made up a stap across the top of the carb ( with tek screw's to the filter holder either side of the carb)to screw the air cleaner lid to, again real rough as guts stuff. I just got the stuff I needed off my spare sedan and now there might be a bit more air getting to the carb etc ?? Regards & Thanks Andrew You can view topic.
