1200 ute project build

hi all, been a member for awhile now and i thought it was time too introduce my 1200 ute to the datsun1200 community. i got it in july last year. got it for a fantastic price in probably the best condition ive seen for awhile. its an 82 model.
my plans for it are a ground up resto, trying to use all genuine datsun/nissan parts either new or rebuilt to new condition. driveline is going to be stock on the rear, stanza coilovers on the front end with girlock calipers. engine will be a A15 (thanks to D) with mild head work and sporting twin webber side draughts. interior is going to be very simple, alloy dash face with no glovebox or stereo, only gauges. suede wrapped dash, alloy door cards and older style leather/suede fixed bucket seats. i have plenty of pics of the progress so far ill add them when i can as theres alot and give some explanations on each where neccessary. hope you all enjoy viewing my build, any advice or criticisms are welcome ill post up pics in order of build starting with the day i got her :)

here i started pulling it apart, as you can see not much rust at all just in the usual spots. behind the rear guards, a piece in the floor pan on the passenger side and thats about it. ive done all the work myself, the fab and welding.

the diff has been completely stripped down, everything has been resprayed indiviually and all new parts have been used where possible. all new zinced high tensile bolts or re zinced original bits and pieces. all the parts have come from japan as you all know pretty much nothing is available in oz. all new cables, springs, packing gaskets, you name it its been changed. rear springs have been reset by 3", unfortunately no pics of that but they will come up later on in my post.

next was the start of the underbody, this is defintely a tedious task, i considered sand blasting but in the end i had time and the cost of doing it by hand was alot less. my old man and i made a rottiserie (its for sale if anyone wants it, just ask) i used paint stripper, numerous wire wheels, sand paper you name it. this probably took me a good few months to complete. i must add i only work on it after work for a few hours and half days on fridays.
i opted for POR 15 on the whole under body, inner and outer guards, wherever there where rust repairs and i think thats about it. went the gloss black as you can see, ppl who have used it before know its a bloody process. this was my least favourite part of it. i brushed it on as it was easier for me considering it drys quite flat without brush strokes. i decided to do it in sections as it was easier. the front half first then the rear followed by the guards. all the fuel system under the rear quarter was re done. all new hoses, re zinced fuel filler. all new grommets. next and the most recent was the front end suspension. all front end bolts and washers were re zinced. i used new stainless spring washers througout the entire underbody. i used stanza struts, shortened with new koni 240z inserts and a 51mm coilover kit (thanks to suppafatto) for that. rebuilt girlock calipers, new rotors and bearings. all new ball joints and super pro bushes. i used the original steering knuckles and had the spacing changed to fir the stanza struts this way i can run all standard parts lca's etc.

They look like Australian-built Stanza A10 struts with Girlock brakes?
