Just finish fitting bike carbs - awesome

These are 36mm Mikuni RS flat slides with pumpers on a A15 with forged pistons, big valves , big ports ( bigger than a GX! ) Wade 140 cam, H rods , Crank - rods - pistons - A12 flywheel and 190mm clutch all balanced.
It was a job and half to make the manifold and all the other bits, but it came up a treat. It pulls like a train and haven't even had it dynoed yet. You might have gathered i'm a little chuffed - so sorry about that. This might bring on some hate but Im never going to bother with Webbers/Dellortos/Solexes again ( jets, emulsion tubes ,air corrrectors - all too complicated and expensive ) Attach file: photo-3.JPG (46.42 KB)![]()

For the fuel pressure I used a standard faucet style electric fuel pump but found the pulses were bouncing the floats causing it to flood so I put it a smaller return line back to the tank and it worked a treat. I then ended putting the pump down the back of the car down low because I had issues with it self priming. - fixed
Jets are 17.5 pilot and 125 mains but have 5 more sets coming up to 155 so I have a choice when it go to dyno. Attach file: photo-7.jpg (154.49 KB)![]()

I had similar issues with the fuel system and did same thing.
I ran a fuel pressure reg set at 2 psi but at high rpm bowls ran dry. Reading up the fpr gave right pressure but restricted flow. Stock pump us 4.5 psi so just set up t return and seems all good. Nice set up. Did you machine groves onto runners so silicon pipe won't slip off under vibration?

To keep the carbs from slipping down under vibration I fitted a support spring which kept tension on the top connecting rail of the carbs but still kept the vibration isolation.
Also fitted an O-ring between the the carbs and manifold ( same size ID as the silicon connecting hose ) which stopped any metal to metal contact. Because I'm sqeezed for space in a Clubman 7 the carbs bowls were a little close to the headers than I'd like, so they got heat wrapped and a heat shield also for good luck. Mik - what accelerator cable did you use ? - mine was a combo corolla/ suzuki to keep it low and under the hood

Good idea with the spring, a fabric or rubber strap works well too.
What are Pumpers? And what bore size are those carbs? Engine specs sound pretty decent! You can view topic.
