installing windscreen advice needed

Hi I have just repainted my 120y and have got to put in the front and rear windows back in an was wandering if people could give me a few tips and tricks before i tackle it. I have researched abit and have watched videos of them using a rope to install it.
i have all new seals from thailand (sunpha brand) it seems fairly decent close to original just looking at it. but i want to know do i need any sealant before installing the rubbers? I get some people telling me yes and some no. but i would prefer to use some as i dont want to remove it again if it leaks. if i do use a sealant do i use that non drying butyl kinda stuff? the stuff that seems to stay tacky? also do i first run a bead of it in the window channel then install the glass or install the glass to the car and fill the glue around the edges? and last question do i install all my chrome strip into the rubber before or after installation to the car? Thanks!

I paid a professional $150 to do it and I am glad that i did
They used NO tacky sticky stuff and put the chrome in BEFORE installing it. It took two of them and they came to my house

Do NOT use sealant. It will increase the chance of a leak.

I used Mornington Auto glass (actually in Tyabb)for Kermit. They charged $265 including the front screen and quoted $150 if I supplied the screen and rubber. They quoted the same for the rear screen and this includes the fitting of the chrome.
I think they did a good job.... it depends upon where you are in Melbourne

No sealant
and I can't vouch for leaks or not as it's in the project car which has not seen weather in 3 years (and I just got the screen installed recently) You can view topic.
