yesterday (3/1/3),while driving in fairfield,i drove past a long wheel base sunny ute.turned around to find it was owned by auto disposals,& they have 2 of them.the one i saw was a 92 with an a12 on lpg.they can import others for about $6000,which is pretty reasonable for a 1200 ute.they are at 50 mandarin st fairfield,& have a web site www.autodisposals.com.au.if you check out the racing photos on their site, both utes can be seen.the registered one is a normal wheel base model, but the one visible in the far background is the long wheelbase.unfortuneately, the cab is still the same length,so i don't fit.as i said,it was late a12,with 4 speed,h165 diff, square headlights, strange grill & air conditioning.maybe they can get me one of those extended cab ones, like in the photo gallery.

yes,the rear window in a ute is at the b pillar,& seeing as i always seem to sit behind the b pillars in 1200's,it's a bit of a squeeze.however,i'm about 6'4" tall,& wide with it,so that's another reason.the only 1200 ute i fitted into comfortably was a friends, who had 4 inches grafted into the roof line, which moved the rear window back by.....wait for it,4 inches.according to everyone except the panel beater who did the work,it was an easy job.according to the panel beater,it was a real prick of a thing.hope that japanese sunny wasn't custom, cause i'd like one like that, except no dicky wing mirrors.

Little bit of history from SA. the 1200 ute or bakkie like we call them were replaced with the 1400 from 1981 onward - same shape, the cab roof was extended +/- 3 inches from late '85 until now. The 1400 ute/bakkie still uses most of the same parts, Nissan SA changed the interior color a bit -it is grey now and the grill a lot squarer

b310gx if your interested in seeing if they can get an extended cab, next time time you go past drop in and speak to Rodney and tell him a mate of his cousin Allen sent you and ask him next time he is importing stuff to find out if they are avaliable and if he can get hold of one.
As for the 2 utes I remember that they had them and another long wheel base one at there house even back when they used to be the old GMWorld Disposals. ( on second thought don't say you know Al as he will probly say get stuffed. lol!) You can view topic.
