#1 Electrical Woes

I recently removed my dashboard to fabricate some gauge mounts/fix dash cracks.

Upon re-installation of the dash, all my illumation lights are on permenantly, and i cant for the life of me figure out why it's happening.

The illumation (Red/blue stripe) has 12V all the time, which makes sense as they're negatively switched.
The headlight switch operates as normal, but it neither dims, or changes the illumation.

Is my headlight switch broken? (i hope so, as i've already spend 2 hours checking every wire against the harness diagram.

I'm really stumped as to where to go from here, as i cant leave my car parked overnight without it going flat.

In a Datsun 1200, the illumination lights are not negatively switched. I reckon if you fix that wire, all will be well.
