#1 Charcoal canister hookup on turbocharged engine
Murvz Posted on: 2016/12/16 10:14
I'm getting alot of fumes in my 1200 ute so I thought I should hook up a charcoal canister. The question I have though is do I need to run a one way check valve on the vacuum line between the manifold and canister due to having a boosted system?

AUS ute

There is already one-way check valve on the charcoal canister (for the vacuum line)

There is also a one-way check valve in the fuel vent line

I think that valve is so that the engine won't pressurize the fuel tank

The fuel cap on these models has a one-way check valve for vacuum relief

The pressure relief for the tank is the vent line (pressure does not vent though the cap)

Cheers ddgonzal. Not much is standard on the ol ute nowadays. The charcoal canister I have is not fitted with a check valve like the one in your picture. I'm pretty sure there isn't one leading back to the tank either. Thanks for the feedback!
