Hey guys,
does anybody know whether or not the plastic grille can be powder coated?i don't think it will survive the 400 degree heat setting process, but worth asking anyway. Cheers.

YES, 1st you have to pre-heat and quickly apply so spray sticks then back in oven again. But it also depends on plastic too

I would NOT attempt to try to powder coat the plastic grille. The temps needed will probably melt the plastic. Powder coating honestly isn't that much better than a good properly applied paint job, and in some cases, can be worse if surface prep isn't just right. I powder coated a set of wheels and it got stained by brake dust almost immediately just the same as any paint would've, and then it's also began flaking off of every piece I've coated. Maybe I just suck at powder coating, but in hindsight I wished I would've just gone with a base coat/clear coat instead, or plasti-dip, or hell even just spray paint. Every 1200 grille I've ever spray painted looked great and lasted plenty long and a refresh was only 20 minutes and $5 away.

UV-cured powder coating for plastic melts much quicker and on lower temp. Its been around for years But depends on plastic. I agree with above. better to just paint
