Front chassis rail/member repair

Hi guys,
Has anyone here repaired/replaced both of these front rails? Mine has a small amount of rust (seen just in front of the radius arm mount), but I'm sure when I cut the side open, there's going to be a lot more. I'd like to replace with something stronger. Is removal a straight forward process? I'm going to make a jig that connects to the strut towers to use as alignment for the cross member before I remove so it all goes back the way it should. Was also thinking about using 2mm plate to remake the rails, as this seems to be a common rusted/damaged area. Thanks.

It's probably not that bad. The right side rusts to the battery sitting right above it and leaking a tiny bit over 10-40 years

Ddgonzal you were right. Not nearly as bad as I first thought. Replaced the side of the rail after removing the radius rod mount and It's better than new.
I also ordered a new RH radius rod bracket. They are still available, and, the left one is as well, although it was going to be 1.5 months to have it manufactured. Happy days, thanks for your help. You can view topic.
