I know a million people hae probably asked this but what kind of times can you push out of worked A-series Engines? My Friend dosn't reckon they can have much potential. Can anyone prove him wrong 4 me?

Thanx

High 12s are possible.
14s are more likely, eg. A-15 with webers.

that was, 12s naturally aspirated (no turbo). im pretty sure......that info was from another post about japanese 1200s. just remember a car doesnt have to beat the top fueler 1/4 mile world record to be a fast car (you dont want know how many times ive had to argue that! street class records are the only real relevant times). 14s can be plenty of speed in a little 1200, and thats not overstressing the engine.

14 sec ... that's pretty fast. Most stock Corvettes with 5.7 liter or even 7-liter ran in the 14s ... only a very few are 13-sec cars from the factory.

With the light weight of the Datsun 1200, its not too difficult to make them a 14-second car. I'd go with the A15 and build it up just like you'd build an A14 (the extra 7% displacement will help).
