i'm sydney based, and tried all the wreckers in sydney, for a 4 spd gearbox, but not to avail, best i could get was a recondition gear box for $400 incl, GSt, i got a friend in the states, and i'll see, if he can get the 5 spd, gearbox, as there more available there

You can't find a 120Y or Sunny 4-speed? These fit in the 1200. See Martin's

honestly man, go 2 nissbits.co.nz, th freight will b cheaper than from the states, and there r still heaps here in NZ, i wuldnt pay much more than $NZ100 privately, so go hav a look

costs a grand to get a box bg enough to fit a gearbox in from USA, but you could fit bout 3 gearboxes in the same box

(i rang a shipping company a while ago and decided against it)

A grand from a shipping company, you mean like FedEx or DHL? It's only about $1200 AUD for an entire 40' cargo container if you go with marine shipping, but it takes a couple of months.

it was some aussie company i rang in the yellow pages

the container was 1m cube

this include all the takes like %25 GST
