There will be a lot of difference in how it looks! In my opinion they look more interesting and racy. Plus being a "factory option" of sorts they are more "all Datsun".

From listening to everyone who's had one, it should be smoother running as well.

for tuneaBILITY, STAY WITH THE WEBBER, BUT THE SUS ARE GOOD FOR FLAT OUT, apart from that, if you dont know how to tune su'd your self, go to a mini specailist, they know al about su'd as bugger all else people do. id stick with a webber for simplicity sake, but if you want go, go two webbers, at least parts are easy to find.

for simplicity's sake?? The SU is the most simple carb in the world! In design and tuning. Seriously, you can become an SU expert in about half an hour! get hold of a workshop manual for say the 510 or L16, it has about 95% of the stuff you need to know. And the rest is just common sense.

so i will get more performance out of the twin Su's?

p.s i will go to twin webers eventually but a mte is giving a good deal on the SU's so i will put them on for now

the twin SUs are capable of better performance than a downdraught weber for a couple of reasons. The most obvious is manifold design, and the second is reversion pulse interferance, but that's only really applicable if you have a decent cam. If the motor is (or will be) worked, the twin SU's will be a better choice. Plus they look sexier... They're also are very economical carbs - especially on the highway. I'd go for the SUs any day over a single downdraught.
