#1 200Bstruts into 1200
DATT-MATT Posted on: 2003/7/11 3:43
Hi guys ive got a pair of 200b struts and want to put them into my 1200. They have adjustable platforms so spring diameter isn't a prob.the prob is the mounting holes in the top and botton. I guess for the top i can just fit the 1200 strut top correct? And for the bottom should i just elongate the holes to make it fit or does the L series ball joint bolt on? Does anyone else run L series struts and if so what is your setup?

Thanks guy for the help......
Matt

Yes.
Stanza lower arms (everyone does that).
Use the 1200 strut top , including the thrust bearing assembly. You can switch the top spring cup to suit your adjustable coilovers.

The Stanza radius rods need to be shortened by 1 inch, or the 1200 radius rods need to be bent a little more to fit. I chose to machine down the stanza radius rods.

The L Series balljoints don't fit on any of the 1200 or 120Y lower arms.

Interest to see how you go on this conversion, as I have 200B brakes and need to swap out the std 1200 on my coupe. Please keep in touch with me as to your progress....Craig

it'd be better to use sunny strut tops,as the diameter of the strut piston is bigger than 1200,but the same as sunny.also, use the 200b steering arm with a 180b outer tie rod end,as it's offset outwards & gives better camber(more negative),plus better ackerman.use the stanza lower control arm & balljoint,& i think 120y caster rods.
