A15 FlatTops ... almost

Anyone ever heard of, seen or know about A15 pistons 12010-H9714? My understanding is these are 76mm bore, 30mm height and _only_ 1mm dish. A web search turned up just one dealer somewhere in Thailand who has some. There must be more.
Anyone ever try: Honda Accord 79-83? The details are: 77mm bore, 28mm height, 17mm pin and flat top. The trick here would be to rebore the pin bores to 19mm, w/ all the extra coming off the bottom of the bore. That'd raise the compression height to 29mm, which'd leave 1mm to come off the block. Also there's KB/Silvolite #3305 (GB15, I think) 75.5mm bore, 1.133"=28.78mm height, 18mm pin. These are flat tops with valve reliefs. Offset boring the pin (towards the bottom) to 19mm would give a height of 29.28mm, and a .72mm=.030" block skim. Of course these'd only be usefull at the 1mm oversize 76.5mm -- if the block would clean up. Crazy, stupid, xlnt or what? Thanks in advance. Jack

You should be able to buy the A15 pistons from the Nissan dealer, or you could buy high-compression pistons off eBay.
If the goal is to use big-bore pistons, the Subaru Justy pistons have been used to make a 1600cc A-series engine: 78mm 1567cc pistons

With the A15's if you bore them out 120 thou (79mm bore) I used 95model Mazda 626 flat top pistons with valve recessions but where shaved slightly to get them to fit in, it gives me a little over 1600cc's

My goal is not to build the max overbore motor--I've done it before (although not A-series) and the overheating problems weren't worth the last mm. I just want to raise the CR, keep good squish, end up w/ a cool running block and rigid cylinder walls and use cast, not forged, pistons. That's why I've been checking out some of the smaller bore flat top alternatives.

I've built a mild A15 in a B310 ,bored 80 thou (2mm) used mazda E5 pistons. they also have a 19mm pin end up with a 5.6cc dish (bugger all)these were supplied by SSS automotive in Sydney Austr.
piston to deck is 1mm,about 9.75 c/r ,can still run our #### grade pump gas You can view topic.
