At first I was going to say this was a bit expensive. But after reading the finer details, I think you are getting a lot for your money. I find it hard to believe that anyone spent this much money on an engine though. Talk about throwing the chequebook at a project!

The clutch, ECU and all of the good bits certainly make it a very good proposition.

My engine will certainly end up costing more than the price on this engine, and I don't expect I'll have even half of the "brandname" good bits.

But there's some risk in buying a 2nd hand engine. You would have to assume that it's in need of a rebuild. Any really high HP engine almost always needs a rebuild every few years anyway. So look at at another US$1000 in seals/gaskets. If it needs a new block, think of the work to rebore/re-o-ring the new block.
