#1 stretching the dattos legs
datsonovic Posted on: 2003/9/7 13:50
i have a fairly modified datsun 1000 wagon to which a borg warner diff housing and 3.9:1 center from a 120y and cortina four speed box is fitted. I was thinking of trying to get a bit more top end but i cant find anything lower than a 3.9, i was thinking somthing like 3.5:1 any ideas?

wouldn't happen to be red with 'rebel' wheels?

about the diffs, that series BW was used in many 70's Jap car assembled in Aus. I've only looked for lower ratios (3.89, 4.1, and 4.3) in corollas, but I think some other larger cars like Coronas used the same BW diff too - they might have a taller ratio. They'll all be wider housings than the 120Y, but you should be able to swap centres or crownwheel/pinion.
