Anyone know more about this 11.5 second 120y?? Apparently it rocks

Being trying for ages to find out more about it but I think it runs a ca18 turbo?
anyone???

Apparently it was the only non rotary engine car to give the rotors a run for their money in a recent Winton enduro

yes, that's Mark Short from SA. this car was destroyed at QR in the 2002 Improved Prod Nationals in an altercation with Wayne Wakefeild's 808 wagon on the back straight. I guess it could have been reshelled since, but I haven't heard any more about him since then - hopefully it is back on the track now, but I didn't see his name in this year's IPRA Nationals. It looks like that photo was taken at QR too.

It had some lap records at some tracks for its class from memory, so it was pretty damn quick. Nice car. Even had in cabin adjustable sway bars.

I think he might have won the Inter-State Challenge last year too - he was certainly in the running for it. The Final round was run on the same weekend as the Nationals up here at QR. There would have to be something about that on some IPRA website somewhere...

And yeah, it is SR20 turbo. I

I 'll ask Steve if he knows any more about it, because he was drooling over it in the pits , and was talking to Mark alot over the course of that weekend.

Hey Team Dat, I know the one your talking about. It is a VG30 turbo on straight gas. The guy did most of the work himself. Was running low 11s when I saw it.

found a couple of things on the South Australia IPRA site. It's worth a look, especially if your overseas and want to get a better idea of what our Improved Production racing is all about - some interesting photos in there.

Gracias for the info amigos.!
Funny thing is a rough but very cool lowered 120y coupe with 14s almost lost it around a turn in front of me and he had no traction as he accelerated down the road I managed to catch up to him leaned over to the left as it turned green I shouted if its a worked A series he almost laughed and said nah its got an FJ in her.
It made me want that immaculate 120y coupe that a granny cruises in.

Can I ask how the accident with Wakefield happened?
