#1 Carby query
Datopower Posted on: 2003/10/15 21:34
Hello there,

I was wondering if anyone could explain what the part is that comes out of the carb that has an electrical wire attached to it?

It seems like it is some sort of needle valve??

This is a carb of an A14?

It's octogan shaped and screws in..

Any help would be greatly appreciated as to what this actual part does and where the wire is supposed to lead to?

Thanks heaps!

Anti-dieseling solenoid valve
Engine won't idle, but drives good otherwise
This valve has one electric wire. Make sure it's getting power when the ignition is on. - from tech section

go to tech section and under engine section there's carb adjustment article

hope this helps

He writes "octagon shaped. & screws in" Im sure he means hexagon shaped & thats gotta be the idle fuel cutoff [anti dieseling]
Razor nailed it in one, & the picture is perfection.

I know that it gets repetitive, but..... "it's all in the manual"
