So on my weekly parts hunt I stumble across a steal on a Three Quarter Midget roller. The car is old enough for Vintage racing so....... After I sell the Halibrand Quick change and hubs the plan is to stuff in an A12 , 4 speed and 1200 rear axle mainly becuase a have all of theses in the garage. Now I really enjoy driving open wheel cars but I do not enjoy the maintence of an open wheeler. Also I plan to use some Datsun suspension pieces. Now the car with motor should wiegh around 800lbs. The motor will remain stock because at 130 lbs and 5 7" I'm a tight fit and my elbows stick out past the roll cage structure.... scary stuff kiddies. (I've ridden a 250 GP bike into a corner a 145 mph but frankly I wouldn't drive this thing past 100 mph. )
So anyway anyone else ever build a Datsun special??? Tom Grossmann , Las Vegas

well no I couldn't say that I have made a Datsun Special. When I was down in Vegas for a month my 510 traney blew and I had the hardest time finding somone out there. No one in vegas with datsuns it seemed like. I want to move out there and use the local drag strip but not sure about it. The vegas Z club like seems to no longer exist. I also have 2 Datsun 1200's I drag race. I have had ideas of putting a small 1600 engine on a go kart kinda thing. like a sand rail of some sort. well anyways u have any pics ? let me know
THANKS Rich

Rich , the Datsun scene locally seems to a underground thing. There are about 4 or 5 510's racing locally. A couple of wrecking yards have Datsun stuff but well they are wrecking yard people and sometimes they will make you crazy - you know if a part has a racing sticker on it they think it is gold , eventually the will come back to reality and sell the parts. The Import Drag Scene is very strong here as well as SCCA Auto-X.
