It's not a bad idea for a race car..
I wouldn't do it on a street car..Definitely would do it on a "daily driver". You can get all of the same bits in reproduction steel for the same price. Chris

I'd be interested in a bonnet, but as Chris said, you wouldn't really want a full fibreglass front end on a street car. The old datto's a fragile enough!
For the same price, the steel ones are the goods, especially considering it's hard to get a good paint finish on fibreglass unless you put a lot of work into it.

i looked into it down here (victoria) and i rang up vicroads and everything to check, in victoria at least you can have fibreglass guards on cars built before 1973, so most of us coupes and sedans just squeeze in
im interested and would love to see photos, is he talking all seperate panels, and are the guards flared?

Thats interesting that VicRoads will not allow Fiberglass guards after '72, but will happily register post '73 Corvette's, where the WHOLE BODY is fiberglass.
Why on earth would you want to run 'glass when steel is readily available. Street weight 'glass components are usually heavier than steel. Always remember, Steel is real & they can shove 'glass up their ......... If it cant rust, it aint real.
