yeah mate you would want to get that repaired. 1 of me mates had rust in his 180B around the edges of his windscreen and it just got worse each month till it let water leak onto the dash.

I'd say is better to take the windows and seals off, if the rust is located near the seals then probably it started under the seals, so that's the place in worse condition and the one it really needs to be fixed, if it's located one or two inches away then you can get away without taking the windows off
this is just my opinion after dismantling a KB110 and a KF10, those places with rust near hidden metal, are allways worse then they look, if you only take care of visible rust sooner or later (probably sooner) the rust will reappear!

my (perhaps limited) experience with vehicle rust is that it is rarely confined to the place that you can originally see it first of all! However , if it is simply surface rust - which I hope it is - it shouldn't be that hard to control. I read a book called "Car Body Repairs" by a Donald Wait, published by Gregory's Automotive Publications (repair manual No. 401) which taugh me a lot about this topic. As for a hard answer to your question, I dont know to much about cots involved, and i imagine that they will vary wildly from place to place. I'd ask to see some of their previous work and or speak to previous customers if you can. thats my two bob worth - good luck!

My 1200 coupe has got rust under the front and rear window seals and a bit in the channels. I wanted to know what sandblasting would cost? any recommended places in sydney? If the rust is just around the windows how much does this cost to repair? This is one thing i really couldnt be stuffed tackling myself!
