Best thing to do is get an L16 crossmember from the USA, and get a L18 or L20 and put that in. Depending on what you want to do, I don't think the J18 is worth saving.
If I find anything more about the J18, I'll let you know, but as you're in Mexico, you are in the best position to find out more. Chris

I think they were more of a commercial thing I know a guy who has a j15 and it has a cast iron head.

The J18 is a Mexican thing.
Apparently a Japanese copy of a MG engine from the 60s. The J18 didn't happen until the early 80s. The smaller J13, J15, J16 were more common.
