The rotor bolts to the rear of the hub like a normal 1200 one the kit I bought had the rotor over the front of the hub the only thing holding it in place was the rim !! if you look at the old pics and the new pics you can see the difference.

I think we all need a friend with a machine shop. I do have access to a machine shop and a close friend who is a competent mechanical engineer/toolmaker/fitter machinist (he likes metal) so I think we'll have a crack at it.One thing im not following is when you say rear hub instead of front,what hub are you refering to.

Yes the honda discs where redrilled.I dont see why the engineer would worry about that!!! its not weakening anything plus they cant be seen anyway as its at the back of the hub !!! as long as the holes are a clearance fit for the bolts it should be sweet. The centre hole of rotor should locate it all anyway.

Andrew, i already have the hi-lux calipers over pintara vented discs, it works well except the ol' engineer isnt gonna like the fact that the discs had to be re-drilled, have you re-drilled these honda discs you used?

i've looked into undrilled pintara ones but at $130 a side (6 month wait also) i was hoping for a cheaper option

Datfun I used a 10" honda disc with the hilux 4spot (cast) callipers. They worked great even on the race track. But the faster you go the better your brakes should be
Sarav looking at the specs both the gtr and gts-t rotors should work. you will have to drill the center hole out a bit to fit to rear of hub instead of front and drill 4 new holes to bolt it up it wont affect your track any as the rims just bolt to the hub as normal. You will have to machine the rear of hub down so teh rotor sits closer to the front for clearance and calliper position. Its all trial and error.
I bought a kit that attached them to the front of hub with big spacers ect finding a rim to clear oit all was a nightmare so I just made it up to suit my own liking. Its good having a freind with a machine shop :)

Its me again, ive just got some rotor specs:

R32 GTS-t (dba 909)280mm,30mm,68mm centre hole, 54mm hat.

R32 GTR (dba 4926) 296mm,32mm,68mm centre hole, 54mm hat.

R33 GTS-t (dba 4963) 296mm,30mm,68mm centre hole,53.75 hat.

I dont know how to figuire out which one would work best, how does the offset/hat height effect the decision?, wouldnt you have already altered the wheel track,offset,when changing from standard struts? Confused.

Thanks Andrew, I was also wondering if you would know if the Gtst & GTR callipers were the same calliper, or if not, at least the same dimensions, in which case i could use the 280mm disc. I know its probably over kill but he's giving them to me for free.

I'm only guessing (im no expert when it comes to this stuff) that there would be extra load on the hub, which srut would siut best 180b stanza or other?? and what hub?

P.S How does your beast Stop?

i was reading threw an old zoom mag and the little beast of yours was featured, at least i think it is yours. what disk were you using with the hilux calipers.

i would love to do the skyline but it seems like over kill for a street car.

I used the 280mmx30mm gts-t rotors (dba909)
and calliper.. It might be possibe to fit the 297mm rotor as i have around 10mm clearance from calliper to my rim. would be very close it also depends a lot on the offset im pretty sure the GTR disc has different hight hat.

I was going through the pics & i came across ur mod. front struts, Nice job. i'm going to recieve a mates R32 GTR calipers as he is upgrading, are the ones u used gtr or gtst like ur discs. The standard R32 GTR discs are 296mm, is that too big to fit inside a 15 inch rim with the caliper. I really want to use them but dont know if its possible, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
